IMG_4009My Story…

Finish carpentry details such as built in cabinets, banquettes, benches, mudrooms, wainscoting and interior shelving. Restorations, finishing and painting of antique and other fine furniture. I can also provide assistance and guidance with about any other whimsical items you may be thinking about bringing back to life, updating or rejuvenating.
After spending 32 years in the Fire Department retiring as a Fire Chief, and an additional 6 years doing National Catastrophic Planning, it was time to find something a little less stressful and a bit more fun to keep me busy between visits to see my daughters and my grand children. Having a background in construction from my time in the Fire Service combined with my long time interest in wood working was a perfect jump for me. That has brought me to where I am today. The name Pops Restorations came from my grandkids, as I am “Pop” to them. It also helps define what I do. Old fashioned craftsmanship which seems to be hard to come by these days.
As a one person shop, I am not the fastest hamster on the wheel and for that reason, I work on a reservation basis. Plus it seems that old fashioned craftsmanship is what people are looking for, and each year I get busier and busier. Mark Twain once said “Always do right. This will gratify some people, and astonish the rest.” That is where I come in. Always doing right and making sure the people I work for are not just customers, but become our long lasting friends as well. So if you have an idea, even something out of the box, it is always fun to kick it around a bit. Maybe we can kick your idea around with you!
